Welcome to the Digital Media 1 class. This 1 unit class is offered by West Valley College. There is no letter grade for the class, Pass/No Pass Only. Do all the assignments and pass the final exam and you will receive credit. Start the class by visiting the Instructor section of the class web site, answer the question listed, and email the instructor. Introduction - This class is an overview of a Career Field in Digital Media. We will answer what is Digital Media, What type of jobs are available, What skills are needed, types of computers and software, and an Overview of the West Valley College Digital Media Program. There is alot of reading and watching of videos in this class. Don't be stressed, just read the info and watch the video that interest you. This class is about finding out how you use Digital Media. Maybe you like reading online, watch movie on youtube, fixing photos in Photoshop, playing video games. All of this is what we call Digital Media. How this class works.

1. There will be a lesson for each week of the class. Each lesson includes web reading, videos, and assignment.
2. Video instruction - These are video instruction that you watch on you computer.
3. Assignments - There are 5 assignments for this class and a 10 question final exam. Yes it is only 10 short questions.
4. Assignments include: Job research email, Learn style email, Computer quote email, WiFi research email, 2 drawings you just email to me, then final 10 questions. You have 6 weeks to do this.
5. Discussion board - we will have a place to post questions and answers. Every student will be able to post a question and I or another students and respond.
6. Chat - Chat is a way that we can write to each other in real time.

Questions

1. What software do I need for this class. You should use the Firefox browser for the Internet, Have the Latest Flash Player.
2. What if I don't want to use Firefox browser. I test the web site media on firefox. If you like to use Internet Explorer on Windows or Safari on Mac thats fine, but I have had some video playback problems on these browser but try and see.
3. What can I buy cheap EDigital Media software - www.collegesoftware.org
