Wow this is a great book. This is an Advanced Class and you should have a good understanding of Illustrator before taking this class. Unlike the first West Valley College Illustrator class, which we were just learning the tools. In this class we will be using the tools to make products. Web Ads, Childerns Books, etc. See grading for complete list.

Class Objectives:

1. Use the latest tools in Illustrator CS4 or CS5
2. Print Illustrator files on color printer
3. Save Illustrations for Web/Video/and Wireless Devises
4. Create brushes and symbols

Grading:

This class can receive a grade or Pass/No Pass option.I have not written or organized all the assignment yet. They will all be listed in the lesson section of the class. Below is a general list of assignments. I don't give points for assignments, By I will review each assignment and provide you with feedback. You can always email me and ask for full grade evaluations. Post your completed assignment on a Blog and we will be able to review eveything together.

1. Drawing an animal - yes this is practice.
2. Drawing City or Country scene for Animation - This assignment and lesson is how to prepare drawing for Flash. I will not require you do the Flash part.
3. Wirecard - text and boxes. Good new CS5 stuff.
4. Crazy Backgrounds - Review the auto trace and Shape Blend
5. Brush and Stokes - Hand Drawn Letters.
6. Childerns Book Illustration - Midterm
7. Icon design - making buttons and drawing for Cell Phones
8. Presentation Design - Charts and Graphs - Like powerpoint presntation, saving PDF
9. Print Design - Trifold Brochure. Final Project.

At this point I don't see any test. I am looking for you to watch the videos, read the book, and make some good projects. Follow the techniques example in class. You complete all the assignment to the requirements and you will receive an A.
