Welcome to Adobe Flash. Flash is a computer application that is used to create a variety of different types of media. People use flash to create animation for web site, Cartoon Animation for TV, Interactive CD-Roms, DVD Menus, Video playback - yes youtube.com is a Flash format, ads for web sites, and just plain slide shows. So you can see there is a lot to Flash. It is not just one thing. As a student you will need to find which part you want to learn. I can only show you some techniques on how to use the Application. You will need to find out what works best for you. Flash is very hard to learn. It is not an application that is for beginners, you should know some Photoshop/Illustrator/Dreamweaver or some kind of easier application first. It is not that Flash is so much different than these application, drawing on the computer is pretty much the same, it is that Flash has time. You don't make one drawing, like Illustrator, you will need to make several drawing over a series of frames to achive motion. If done right, you can make creative and fun media. Lets look at some more examples.

- Examples - from web sites or former students homework. Examples of the concept presented in lesson.
- Book Reading - Adobe Flash Professional CS5 - Classroom in a Book ISBN 0-321-70180-1
- Video instruction - These are video instruction that you watch on you computer. These are examples on how to do the homework.
- Homework - Each lesson will have a Flash example you will need to complete. You will need to do 1 lesson a week. Each lesson may take you several hours. You should plan to spend 2 days a week for 3 to 4 hours. But that is what it takes to learn Flash.
