Lesson 2 - Introduction on drawing in Flash. Drawing in Flash is a pain if you are used to Photoshop. Flash is a Vector based application. It makes objects not pixels. Want to see examples of Vector art, view my Illustrator Class examples. It will take some time to learn to draw in Flash, but the tools are pretty much the same as other Adobe products. So once you learn to draw in Flash it would be easier to learn Illustrator or Photoshop.

Goals for this week. First, Begin learning the drawing tools in Flash. Also, Chapter 1 in the Book, this is a good introduction on how to use the Timeline. There are a lot of videos to watch this week. You don't have to watch all of them, but what I want is for you to begin practice the drawing tools. as well as chapter 1.

Book - Videos - the videos on the CD in the back of the book are OK. Not the best, But Make sure to watch the Video on the Different File formats. Thats is the most important.

Reading and hands on - There are files on the CD in the back of the book. Copy those files to your computer. Do and follow along with Chapter 1 in the book.

Homework Videos - Watch these video for ideas on how to do the homework. You don't have to do exactly what I did. You Don't have to animate yet. These Videos are done in CS3.

2. Draw landscape 1 - This is just 1 way of drawing there are many different ways.
3. Draw landscape 2 - make sure you undrestand how to make layers.
4. Draw landscape 3 - Add Photoshop graphics for texture
5. Draw landscape 4- Add Photoshop graphics for texture
6. Draw landscape 5 - Add Photoshop graphics for texture
7. Draw landscape 6 - Add Photoshop graphics for texture
8. Draw landscape 7 - Add Photoshop graphics for texture

Assignment Week 2 -

1. Do chapter 1 in the Book. Also, practice drawing in Flash.
2. Do the smile Face video.
3. Watch the videos on how to draw a landscape. Try drawing your own landscape using the Flash tools. I know the tools are hard to use at first, I just want you to try.

# Caution - Alert - Watch out for. This is the #1 problem students run into when you are drawing in Flash. Most of my drawing examples have the Draw Object mode turned off. Make sure it is turned of in the bottom of the tool bar. You can tell if it is turned on if you draw an object and there is a blue box around the object you draw.
