Course Description:
Rec Prep: CA 020 or CA 070. This class focuses on creation and compression of video and audio files for broadcast, DVD and the Internet.


Objectives:
On completion of this course students should be able to: see list on first page of the web site.

Grading
You can receive a Grade, and I believe we may have the Credit/No Credit option again for this class. I will need to see if that was approved.
Grading is done on the traditional letter grade, A through F, basis. 100 to 90 percent= A, 89 to 80 percent = B, 79 to 70 percent = C, 69 to 60 percent = D, 59 to 0 = F. The grade will be computed based on the following elements,

Assignments - I have not worked out all the assignment yet. It will depend on how far we get with the material.

  1. Assignment 1 - show us your favorite Youtube or Vimeo video.
  2. Assignment 2 is the Slide Show video - yes again we will make a slide show.
  3. Assignment 3 is voice/music mix -
  4. Assignment 4 is music video mix. I will provide you with the video sample for this.
  5. Assignment 5 is your video sample - I am thinking talking head
  6. Assignment 6 Video compression for TV, DVD and Internet
  7. Assignment 7 Meta tag and RSS feed and web video
  8. Assignment 8 final video - My example will be a how to video. For example I will have a how to video to explain how to Fly Tie. Fly fishing. This is something that will take 4 weeks. I will explain script writing/video camera/lighting editing. Voice over and music. We will compress for Internet and making a DVD with Menu.

The Grade is based upon the completion of the assignments. You complete all the assignment and due well on the test you should recive an A.
