Lesson 9 - Yes I know it is spring break. So this lesson will be for 2 weeks. Homework for this week.

Final Video ideas - For this class I want you to make a final video. Yes one video for this class. For the next 4 weeks I will upload some production lessons, but I want you to complete a video. The topic of the video is really up to you. But I will have research for you to learn and guideline to follow.

1. Film making ideas - Think about the types of video you want to make. The ideas should be about what you want to make. You will see a project through if it is something you want to do. So many projects I have worked on were not completed. Keep it short.

2. Write down your idea. There was a great video above about writing a screen play. I don't expect you to write a 2 hour hollywood movie, But I like the steps that the screen play video followed. Could use the same steps for a 5 minute movie.

Examples of some final film ideas - I don't expect you to do such a long video as some of these. Many were done with a large team of people. I list these as good ideas.

  1. Ben Fellows
  2. Early man Project
  3. Love is Burtial
  4. Fun Music Video
  5. Drive in Saigon

3. Storyboard and Production schedule. Theres some good examples of how to make storyborads above. My friends Harvey and Ben usually storyboard every scene in a movie. I am currently about to shoot a video next weekend and the director didn't create any storyboards. I am having a hard time trying to understand how to shoot a video when I not sure what the director wants. He says he doesn't know how to draw. But I told him to draw stick figures. His solution was to give me a video example for the storyboard. But that doesn't work on the set. Check it out. If you can help with this project we will start next weekend to shoot.

4. Production Paperwork. - Here a zip folder with lots of different production papers you can use in your production.

Homework - Send me an email explaining a final idea. It doesn't need to be in script form. Just one paragraphy explaining what ideas you have. It needs to be something you can do in 5 weeks.
