Description - This course covers the design of web pages and web sites. Topics include tables, frames, embedded multimedia objects and script language, as well as basic aesthetic issues. Appropriate software such as Dreamweaver is actively used.
Course Objectives:
- Code and Programming of basic XHTML, CSS, and XML for web pages.
- Learn tools in Adobe Dreamweaver to layout and manage web sites
- Code parts of web site for Search Engines
- Links Data content to web sites
- Upload and manage web site content
- Manage and hire a web production team
- Adding Social Media to web sites - Youtube, Linkin, Facebook, RSS feeds
How class will work:
Book: Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 Classroom in a Book - ISBN-10: 0321701771 | ISBN-13: 978-0321701770 - You will be required to complete lesson 1 through 8 as well as 13 and 17. We will complete some of the lesson within the class time.
Web Site Lessons Page - My web site will list extra read and videos to learn more about Web Page design. All assignments will be listed on the web site.
Software - This class will include instruction in Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, and FTP programs.
Lecture and Homework. Each week I will lecture about concepts and demonstrate how to build web sites. Students should attend every class. If you need to miss class please email Instructor at jrascov2@yahoo.com
Grading:
Student will be graded on a A through F grade scale. A - 100 to 90 points. B - 89 to 80 points. C - 79 to 70 points. D - 69 to 60 points. F - 59 to 0 points.
Class Total 100 points Break Down. There are no test within this class. This hands-on class you will be evaluated by written assignments and web page projects.
Book Assignments - 50 points - chapter - 1 through 8, 13, and 17 - You will complete and place all chapter work on class server.
Week 1 vocabulary words - 10 points due first week
Written assignment - 20 Points - Web page design proposal and marketing paper
Final Web Page on server - 20 Points - Your points and grade will be based on including all required parts to web site.
If you cheat or don't do your own work you will receive F grade. |
