Course Description:
Rec Prep: CA 020 or CA 070. This class focuses on creation and compression of video and audio files for broadcast, CD-ROM, DVD and the Internet.

Objectives:
On completion of this course students should be able to:

• Record and mix music and sound effects
• Crop and resize images/photos for digital video
• Setting up lighhting and shooting of digital video
• Importing and editing of digital video
• Compressing of video and audio for broadcast, DVD, and Internet
• Adding Meta tags and RSS feeds for internet audio/video
• Creation of DVD menu and DVD burning
• Uploading and manage for Internet video

Schedules for Audio and Video is:

Class is Tuesday/Thursday 10:55 to 12:20 - Please come to class on time. there will be many demonstration that will start at the beginning of class.

Grading
You can receive a Grade ONLY.
Grading is done on the traditional letter grade, A through F, basis. 100 to 90 percent= A, 89 to 80 percent = B, 79 to 70 percent = C, 69 to 60 percent = D, 59 to 0 = F. The grade will be computed based on the following elements,

Assignments - this is general idea of assignments, May evolve to meet class time

1. Sound Effects and picture Mix - 10%
2. Video compression for TV, DVD and Internet - 10%
3. Meta tag and RSS feed for web video -20%
4. Audio Narration and sound mix - 20%
5. Final - music video, Interview, or Dramatic work. It is really up to you for final project, but it must be delivered on DVD and Internet. 20%
6. 20 question midterm and final assignment -20%

The Grade is based upon the completion of the assignments. Please try to do all the assignment on time. Make sure to come to class. Do not expect to get an A if you miss half the classes. Make sure to take notes you can use them for the test. Make sure to use the equipment. Come on field trip. Do all the assignments, do well on test and participate in class you should receive an A.
