The Computer

The computer lives in a digital world. Devices that we interact with live in an Analog world, example "phone". Analog is a continuous electronic current that smoothly varies its frequency and strength. Analog is the type of signal that sound speakers, television, computer monitors, telephones can interpret and create information. For example, when you talk on the phone with someone you are talking over a analog signal. Your computer does not understand an analog signal, therefor when you go onto the Internet through the phone line you need to use a modem. The modem convert the analog signal to digital information that the computer can use.

Devices that convert Analog to Digital or Digital to Analog
