Course Description:
Flash is an excellent software application for incorporating dynamic animation
and sound into a web site, video, and CD-ROM. Interactive web pages
incorporating graphics, animation, sound, and programming will be created
using Adobe Flash.

Objectives
On completion of this course students should be able to:

  1. Create Artwork using Flash Tools
  2. Use Flash tools to create animations for presentations.
  3. Access, store, and edits artwork for Flash presentations.
  4. Develop presentation using multimedia systems and software.
  5. Capture digital audio, edit it, and mix it with a presentation.
  6. Write and storyboard a multimedia presentation script.
  7. Save and upload Flash files to web server.

Grading
You can receive a Grade ONLY
Grading is done on the traditional letter grade, A through F, basis. The
grade will be computed based on the following elements,
Some assignment are as follows

By the end of this class you will need to have all you files uploaded to a web server. Please make sure to sign up for free web space.

  1. Vocabulary words - 10 points - there will be 20 vocab words you will email to instructor.
  2. Participation- 10 points
  3. 2 drawings - Landscape and Portrait - 20 points
  4. Frame-by-Frame animation - 20 points
  5. Title sequence animation - 20 points
  6. Photo sound animation - 20 points
  7. Tell target - 20 points
  8. Load movie - 20 points
  9. Final animated web site - 20 points
  10. Midterm - 20 point
  11. Final - 20 point


If you cheat, don’t do your own work, you will receive F.


Grade - Grading is evaluated using the following criteria. All grades are
based on my evaluation and assessment of your ability to perform at the
level described below. Questions regarding any grades should be
addressed during my office hours, by appointment.

Grading categories:
A: 200 -180 points Superior work - Consistently demonstrates a superior understanding of
the principles and methodologies taught at a level well above the norm.
Exceed nominal requirements of aesthetic and visual quality more than
80% of the time. Great expectations!
B: 180 - 160 points Above Average - Demonstrates, on a regular basis, an above average
understanding of the principles and methodologies taught. Exceed nominal
requirements of aesthetic and visual quality more than 50% of the time.
Potential is there more effort and understanding of concepts is needed.
C: 160 - 140 points Average: Demonstrates a basic understanding of the principles and
methodologies taught. Work meets the nominal requirements of visual and
aesthetic quality the majority of the time. It's going to take some work to
be successful but with the right work ethic and
attitude it can happen.
D: 140 - 120 points Below Average - Demonstrates a below average understanding of the
principles and methodologies taught. Work meets the nominal
requirements of visual and aesthetic quality less then 50%.
Reevaluation of career and educational goals is highly recommended.
F: 140 - below - Failure - Unable to perform at an acceptable level in demonstrating
principles and methodologies taught. Work meets the
nominal requirements of visual and aesthetic quality at less then
40% of the time. This is not the right career choice.

Active participation in class and projects
Timely completion of all assignments
Passing grade on all test, quizzes and assignments
Willingness to participate and utilize critical evaluations
Ability to meet industry level standards in quality and aesthetics.
Demonstrates growth in abilities and understanding of material taught.
