Contracts - if you are going to make a web site for money. it is best to have a contract. This contract specifies what are the requirements of each partly. For example, in general it will explain what type of web site designer will make and how much client will pay. I have sample contracts in my office, if you want to stop by to see a detail.

Business - Starting you own business is hard but not impossible. Many of the students in the Digital Media program at west valley have started there own small digital media business.

Getting Clients - Probably one of the hardest parts of starting a business is finding clients. Probably the best place to start is to start with people you already know. Think of making web site for family, friends, churchs, neighbors, your doctor. The more web sites you make the better.

Proposal - Is a document that is written by designer and client. It is different than a contract. A contract is a legal document. General info. The Proposal is a specific document that specify the content of what will be design and for whom.

Find someone or something to make a web site on. Yes you can use a site that you have been working on. If you don't have idea just make web site on an artist. Choose artist and research into artist.
Begin to orgainize content into categories. This could be by each page.
Design Research - look at other web site and develop a plan for design. Draw out a look and feel for your web site.
Develop a proposal - April 8
You final web site must include - Introduction animation, Main Menu an 4 sub pages. Like the examples on this page. Background sounds. Each page should include some animation, pictures, and text.
Your proposal should include:
Overview - This answers who and why question. Write a 2 or 3 sentences paragraph that explains who you would make this web site for and why.
Description - Answer a What question. Please list and describe colors and or theme of web site. You can give a link to example of web site that you like. Please list each page and the content of each page. Describe a time line. For example, Layout example completed by April 20, Approval by client by April 27, Complete programming and linking by May 11, Test and upload final web site by May 18.
Layout - Storyboard and drawings of intro animtion and main menu layout. Include as much detail that is need to be able to explain your idea to a client.
