Lesson 7 - Photos and the slide show. A slide show is usually a series of Photos that animate accross the screen to sound. This is very common in Flash. Many web site use slide shows for showing off there products. If you are having problems doing this lesson, Maybe try Lesson 8 first and come back to this.

Assignment to make a slide show.

Steps to making a slide show with sound.

1. Pick around 10 photos that have a theme. Maybe a vacation. look at the sample from spring semester.
2. You should resize the photos in Photshop before you import into Flash. Think about the size of the window and make the photos smaller than the Flash window size. Remember the default window size is 400 pixels x 550 pixels.
3. Open up Flash and Make a nice background to animate the photos.
4. Please try to add text and animate text. Look at page 300 for putting each letter on layer, great way to animate a single letter.
5. Import the Photos and convert each photo into a symbol. Once the photos are a symbol they can be animated with motion tween and add effects to symbol. Make photos movie clip symbols and not Graphic symbols like the video show. Easier to add effects.
6. Add sound to the timeline.
7. Watch the videos and see if you can animate photos, Photos once they are symbols are just like other graphics.
