You must live in the Collins attendance area. Call either the Collins School office or the district office at (408) 252-3000 to determine whether you live in the Collins attendance area.

What are the street boundaries for the Collins attendance area?
DeAnza Boulevard/Homestead Road/Wolfe Road/Stevens Creek are the general street boundaries. However, it is important to check specific addresses with the Collins School office since there are variations and exceptions to this street boundary information.

How do I register my child?
To register your child, you will need a birth certificate or passport, a proof of residency, such as a PG&E bill (original, not a copy) or a lease agreement and immunization records.

The school secretary will have registration forms to fill out.

When do I register my kindergarten child?
Registration for kindergarten is usually held in early February. This year, it is February 7 2005. Registrations for kindergarten will continue to be taken after this date.

Immunizations must be completed by the time school begins.

Is there a kindergarten orientation?
Yes, there is an orientation in the form of a "Kindergarten Tea" each spring. We have one scheduled for April 2005. Parents will be provided with an overview of the kindergarten schedule, curriculum and activities. Please check our newsletter Communique for further details.

When does my child find out who the teacher will be for the year?
Class lists with teachers' names are posted after 4:00 p.m. the day before school begins. All assignments are tentative until school enrollments settle down.

What does my child need to bring on the first day of school?
Your child does not need to bring any supplies on the first day. Subsequently, the teachers will provide a list of what the students will need to bring. Parents can also pick up grade level supply lists from the office.
