In a perfect world, nobody would keep exotic birds as pets in their homes. Instead, they would be flying free in the rainforests of South America or in the grasslands of Australia and Africa, as nature intended. They would not be caged and dependent on humans, and they would not be subjected to improper care, neglect, and abuse. Unfortunately, we are not living in a perfect world, and for decades, exotic birds have been imported and bred for the pet trade. Our goal is to provide protection for these birds who, by no fault or choice of their own, cannot help themselves and depend on humans for their care.
We are dedicated to rescuing parrot-type birds that are sick or injured, or have been neglected or abused. We rehabilitate them when necessary, and place them in safe, caring foster homes until a permanent home is found. In addition, we provide free bird care classes and educate bird owners on the most current care information so that their birds' medical, emotional, and dietary needs will be met.
